Citizens Advice Mid-North Yorkshire are developing legal service provision in this beautiful rural area. We are looking for a fully qualified solicitor able to practise in at least one area of social welfare law (discrimination, housing, public law, employment), or family law, with at least three years post-qualifying experience. If you would like to make a real difference and help us extend access to justice, we would like to hear from you.

The suitable candidate will have at least two years’ experience of managing solicitors or caseworkers. Qualification as a legal aid supervisor is desirable but not essential. We do not currently have a legal aid contract but plan to tender for one when available. You will be familiar with the SRA’s Standards and Regulations and will be responsible for supporting legal staff in meeting professional standards and their professional development.

The successful applicant will have strong organisational abilities and communication skills. You will need to carry a caseload as well as leading the legal team and developing pro bono services. We will ask you to prepare reports and give presentations as we develop our legal services. This role can be based at any of our offices in Mid-North Yorkshire (Hambleton, Richmondshire, Ryedale, or Selby), or partly from home.

Salary : £38,000
