Citizens Advice Mid-North Yorkshire is looking for an enthusiastic adviser to join our Help to Claim team to provide an effective support service for first time Universal Credit claimants. The role will be based either in Northallerton or Richmond with some home-working flexibility.

The service includes the provision of advice, information and digital support and this will be delivered via face to face, telephone and digital channels. We are looking for an adviser with strong IT skills to support clients to make and complete their new Universal Credit claim, and be able to maintain accurate case records.

You’ll have the ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients, enabling them to progress their Universal Credit claim in the most appropriate way.

Experience of giving advice is desirable.

Salary: £21,748 pro rata

Hours: Minimum 21 hours per week

Responsible to: Advice Project Manager
